Flying to Kiev tomorrow!

Hi to everyone who is following me.
I hope you all had gorgeous St.Valentine’s Day with your dearest people. I did, and even though nothing really special was planned, we had a good evening in family circle, cooked some fish and salad, and a pie. No candles, but still it was a very warm evening. After all, we’re not in our 20s any longer. However, maybe when we get older, we’ll get back to candles again? Who knows?
There’s great news I would like to share with you today. The clinic confirmed the day of surrogate’s scan. It’s Friday, the 17th of February. Tomorrow we’re taking our flight to Kiev, late at night, again, like the previous time. The only difference is that this time we’re travelling without our son, Den. This will be a very quick trip: Friday evening we’re already travelling back home to Oslo. A bit tiring, but we will have two weekend days to have some rest after this trip. Also, I’m sure Den will be missing us much, so we didn’t want to stay there for long.
I hope there will be no delays, every hour of our trip is scheduled. So, we’re supposed to meet the lady who is carrying our baby on Friday morning. I’m very excited and a bit nervous. I’ve got some presents to give her. We all will see the baby on ultrasound scan. The 12th week is scan is one of the most memorable. At least, it was for me in my first pregnancy. I hope they will do some photos and video for us.
So, I have to end up here today. Many things have to be done before we depart. Please wish us luck and safe flight. I’ll drop a line to inform you on our journey as soon as possible.
Sweet regards,

Agnete!

  1. Travelling is always tiresome. We worry about getting things right. We didn't want to leave our kid home too. 'Cause this was the first time we were going to spend appart. This made me sad, but dh was amazing and calmed me down. Our boy was left with his granny, we knew everything would be ok, so flew to Kiev almost lighthearted..

  2. You're lucky, lovely, you can compare..Your own pregnancy and your surrogate's pregnancy. Things must differ totally but at least you once experienced this.. 12 weeks scan is a great event for the family! Firstly, 'cause you see your tiny member of the family luckily strong and healthy.
They called us from the clinic beforehand and reminded we were to stay in Kiew for a couple of days. This made me even happier. 'Cause this way I could get to know more about the surro's pregnancy and how our baby felt.
We watched him moving. Dr managed to find the right angle and see our MAN-lol. He was amazing. From the first moment I saw him I fell in love with him forever.
I felt blessed after all the tricky way we had to pass, I did feel blessed with my tiny sweet boy, my only wonder, my hugest achievement, my greatest success. I know how worrying this date could be. You meet your baby ''officially'' and you become totally involved into the process.
That flight to Kiew wasn't bevildering. We knew what to expect but couldn't cope with feelings. I did some cryings and dh couldn't first believe his eyes I was crying for nothing. Then I told him I'd have been waiting for that moment all my life and he said he too. Both felt so excited!..

    1. Me too. I'm lucky to be able to compare..I cannot carry pregnancy myself, that's what I was told some time ago. And it's what made our 2nd ivf journey for baby#2 out of the question..I'm so sorry for this. but seems god has some other plans for us. This time we're opting for the surro's help at Biotexcom clinic. The thing which amazes is that too many ladies participate nowadays in surrogacy programs in Ukraine. So there's no need to put in extra yrs for the actual start of the program. These are just the initial steps for us. But I do believe we made a good choice where to pass it. And we were lucky to have found this very blog where lovely you are describing all the details and sharing your thoughts with us..Thank you. Now I know what to expect not theoretically but ''live''. I hope your baby is growing well inside. And that he's/she's healthy and strong and that you're taking real joy expecting..Thank you for what you're doing.

    2. have found that this subject is a tough one to talk to people about. It isn’t widely accepted for everyone. Just like IVF 15 years ago was still only whispered about DE is there now. But it’s definitely making progress by people being open and talking about it. Dh wasn’t really on board for adoption. So we never let this thoght go – Using donor egg. I was afraid that every time someone said the baby looked like him that I would just lose my mind. For dh when the psychiatrist said that we were just borrowing cells to get things started he was all in. As for genetics our doctor did offer that should we want to have more than one that DE could help in the future. (To have a genetic sibling.) I can’t say that I don’t think about it most days. But I made sure that my baby and I will have an emotional attachment. I don’t regret our descision at all. And we will do it again if we’re successful with this round. Time will show..

    3. We came back to BTC again for a sibling. I know we’re in the right hands so nothing to worry about. This time we’re using another donor. We hope we’ll have our baby#2 soon with them. As for surrogacy I know pretty much about the process from the clinic’s staff. Once I had a good talk with my dr who was kind to explain the smallest details. Actually she was surprised when I asked her about the surrogacy process at biotex. She reasured us we were going the right way with donor egg ivf and there was no need on counting on surrogacy at all. But you know I felt I wanted to kill two birds with one stone then so wanted to know. Fortunately, she was absolutely right. It took us 2 shots with donor eggs to conceive a beautiful healthy baby.

  3. 12 wks scan must be overahelming! This is the time when you see the greatest chnages in the living being growing inside your surrogate. Your baby girl or boy who's soon going to meet you in this world. Moreover this is the time when you get to know your baby is ok. that he or she is healthy and strong and growing just well. And this is the time when you meet your surrogate again, eye-to-eye. You can talk to her and discuss some of the important things with her. You may see with your own eyes how she feels, and whether she has enough rest. 12 wks is considered to be the safe barrier the surro passes and from this very day you might sigh with relief. All the tough moments are now behind. you all can fully enjoy the rest of mons waiting for your tiny miracle. I'm looking forward this stage..I'm praying things will get to their places soon..and one day we'll be flying to Kiev to see our LO for the first time in our life..

    1. Even in the womb, babies can hear sounds and movement around them. Starting early, during pregnancy, is one way to interact with baby before they’re even earthside! My advice is - Record your voices reading a favourite childhood story or singing a nursery song. Choose favourite songs for baby to listen to in the womb. Or talk to baby via skype or in-person time spent with the surrogate. Hoping for yur best, sweety.

  4. Cost is always a shock to people. You don’t think of surrogacy as an elective procedure. You think of fertility as a right. Surrogacy in the US for example, can cost upwards of $80k for one cycle. In case some kind relative or friend will want to carry the baby for you) Depending on what a patient is required to do, costs can escalate to anywhere from $80k to $150k!! Moreover, this pricing doesn’t include vitamins and wellness treatments. Many people still have to invest much more additionally in throughout the process. It amounts to a hefty price tag that many can’t afford. Flying to Kiew for the first time we were wondering what to expect. Whether the ''afforadble'' cost of our plan didn't mean we'd get less survices. Or get them not that effective as expected etc. Our first visit to Biotex though, will be forever in my memory. This was the day we saw people there did care! They were going to help us through. Regardless on how many attempts they needed to create our miracle!

    1. Countries where surrogate motherhood is fully legal: USA, Ukraine, India, Mexico. Waiting time for the first try in the USA is about 9 month. American law is very strict.. But it's too loyal to the surrogate mothers. For example, surrogate mother during pregnancy has the right to demand anything from the future parents. And often it can grow into blackmail. It doesn’t stop even after a child birth. Because by American law surrogate mother is allowed to keep in contact with the child. This is one of common reasons why people don’t choose America for surrogate program. Adding the cost is the highest in the world – around $150k just like you've mentioned. All costs have to be paid by parents!! - Cesarean section, the cost of treatment rehabilitation, accommodation and food for surrogate mother etc. Because of all this reasons only people with high income can use surrogate program in USA. We personally turned to Ukraine for surrogacy, used Biotex clinic which has always been awesome to us.

    2. This journey can really grind you down if huge finance is involved.. But it's great to know that Ukrainian law protects all the sides of the process, so there could be hardly a thing to worry about. If you're from the UK, I'd definitely recommend you looking through oursurrogacyblog.wordpress.com which is absolutely awesome for the details of surrogacy treatment for the UK citizens in particular. If you're American then asiu.us is the same source. In brief, we expect the surrogacy process in Ukraine go this way:
Initial consultation usually contains the following activities: A set of tests depending on the program (fasting is mandatory). Consultation with a fertility specialist who will be in charge of your program (in case of stimulation you will need to have the transvaginal ultrasound check done). Consultation with a manager who will guide you through the program step by step. Signing of contracts. Serch and confirmation of a surrogate mother, matching process. Waiting time depends on the type of contact. Stimulation and synchronisation stage. In case of self-treatment or violation of the treatment protocol, the clinic may cancel the cycle and terminate the contract. Fertilization day, embryo transfer. In case the biological mother undergoes hormonal stimulation and is being prepared for egg retrieval, the second visit may take up to 10 days. After fertilisation the embryo development is monitored by embryology unit. The embryo transfer takes place on the 5th day. You will receive the protocol of embryo cultivation and transfer within 3 working days after the embryo transfer. HCG test, pregnancy confirmation. Pregnancy monitoring. Delivery. Obtaining of the birth certificate for the baby.

    3. Friends of mine passed surrogacy treatment at biotex clinic 2 yrs ago. Now they’re the parents of a lovely baby girl. We also have best experience with them. It took us 2 shots with donor eggs to conceive our baby#1 (After the previous 2 failed oe ivf cycles). I always keep on saying if plan A fails the alphabet has 25 other letters, right? We all search for the best options. And the most important here is never give up. Never get disheartened because of previous failures. One should remember this might be the longer road than expected. And there’s nothing which can be done about it. We cannot rule on the process. Noone can guarantee you success from the 1st shot or this very year. One should understand this well before applying for any kind of treatment. but in all cases the pain felt cannot be compared to the joy coming. This is why we all are here with our needs/thoughts/experiences/whatever. I cardially wish all of you, lovelies, the best year of entire life, babydust to all of you, brave worriors.

  5. It’s no secret that early-morning appointments, hormone treatments, that two-week wait and the losses are gruelling. But so much is out of the doctor’s hands that sometimes you just need to stop thinking. And that’s where humour comes in. To distract oneself..If baby posts on Facebook are driving you nuts, know that you’re not alone. With a little determination and resourcefulness - OK. A lot of determination and resourcefulness - you will succeed. You can do this! Go and get your baby!

  6. I remember our first drive to the hotel from the airport. It was about 35 mins. But it went quite fast 'cause we were busy looking at the sights through the drive. We failed to have the talk with the driver. Mainly 'cause his English was extremelly bad. It is important to know that every friendly culture should not be expected in Ukraine much. Well, you may say hi to strangers and make small talk. But this happens quite rarely 'cause not many of them speak English. So this doesn’t mean that they do not like you. They just don’t know you. But once you approach someone, they will be extremely helpful!

So far, the best way to describe Kiev for me is that is reminds me of Beijing and Mexico City, with its many tall apartment buildings and crazy traffic. You might recognize some brands like Domino’s and KFC, which we plan to try at some point!

  7. Another living post. I will likely ugly cry while I write this, but I want to give hope and let those who are struggling with IF right now know that some (in fact many) do find their dreams. Please hold and don’t give up! Take breaks if needed, but hold onto hope. Growing up I knew I had Endo, but as a teen and in my early 20th I figured WHATEVER. I wasn’t until I got married and we decided we wanted a baby right away that I really thought about my endo. We tried and tried. I had all the stupid apps on my phone. I took my temp every morning before I even moved. I attended heartbreaking baby shower after stupid annoying heartbreaking baby shower. I watched all my friends have their first and many have their 2nd babies. I did my best to be fake happy for them… but I was so sad, so broken, so unhappy. My marriage suffered, I had miscarriages. My DH just didn’t get the pain. But really, he was just feeling a different pain that I also could not understand because I was so deep in my own sadness. That's why I'm so happy the destiny led us to Biotexcom clinic where we've achieved aims so far. This place is just like the blessing after all the strugglings we've suffered and went through..

    1. I can relate, honey. But let me cardially congratulate you now. when you're on the other side of the fence. I was also very worried about the progesterone shots, but I was pleasantly surprised by how not painful they are. Here are a few tips (that worked for me!):
If you get lumps, massage them out. They go away with just a few (5 or less) minutes of massage. If you hit a lump, it hurts, so I found getting rid of them helpful!
I had my husband do these injections. I preferred to do the belly shots myself, but my husband was able to see old injection sites, bruises, and blood vessels that I wasn’t able to see. Avoiding bruises and old injection sites greatly reduced pain, and avoiding blood vessels reduced bleeding and bruising.
A lot of people like to ice. This is not my personal preference. The oil needs to dissipate and I found ice prevented this and actually hurt more. But this is a matter of personal preference. I ended up not needing either ice or heat, but if anything, I’d recommend heat immediately after.
Don’t be alarmed if you get weird symptoms. I would get occasional shooting pain or even numbness of my entire leg (disappears after a few hours). This was just the result of hitting a nerve. Obviously, if you are concerned, call your doctor or go to the ER. I’m just sharing because it was scary the first time but ended up being normal!

  8. This is the most memorable day I'm sure. Your baby is on the go. During an ultrasound, you may be able to notice your baby yawning and waving its arms and legs. Most women have their first scan this week. This is also the final week of the first trimester. During your first scan, your baby’s length will be measured and this will determine the exact age of your baby. This can give a more accurate delivery date. but this is by no means a hard deadline for your baby’s delivery. Very few babies arrive on their actual due date. Importantly, the risk of miscarriage falls as pregnancy progresses and by the end of this 12th week, it’s no more than 1%. Around this time, your doctor may be able to hear your baby’s heartbeat. Your baby’s heart will be beating at approximately 140 beats per minute. The heart is tiny and to maintain an adequate output the heart is unable to increase the amount of blood it pumps with each beat as we can as adults. Instead, your baby’s heart will increase the number of times it beats each minute. Hope only good news are ahead.

    1. Sorry, girls! Haven't got some of the posts. But this is far more than just obvious thing we might suffer lots of thing which became the obstacle to our fertility. For ex., I'm the only one from all my "fertility proven" family who had trouble conceiving. I'm 44, had spend all these years on sport fields. it was so silly of me to think I would always manage to have children just like I won races. (Due to intense exercises I faced premature menopause). Hardly could I understand that all that waiting would turn into applying for IVF with DONOR EGGS! That was heartbreak. Couldn’t make head or tail of how it happened to me. I just wanna say eggs aging plays a crucial role in our ability to become mothers. Now a few words as for the unexplained infertility cases. When we were passing our DE IVF program in Biotexcom clinic (Which successfully ended in a beautiful baby-girl almost a year ago!) Ukraine, we met a couple there struggling with this very issue. I don't remember the details but after all their unexplained infertility turned out to be absolutely explained. They made some changes into their treatment plan and later they conceived with a baby-girl. Blessings to all.

  10. Regardless of age you should have a complete blood count, blood test for HIV, hepatitis B and C, cytomegalovirus, rubella, toxoplasmosis and RH factor before starting a donor egg cycle.
Do you have any health problems that would be affected by a pregnancy such as cardiovascular disease? Are you on prescription medication, etc?
If you are over 40 and are considering the donor egg options, make sure that you have a current electrocardiogram, mammogram, glucose tolerance test and chest film.
Have you talked to an obstetrician about the risks relating to pregnancy, labor and delivery for women in your age category?
Have you discussed the risks of multiple births, which is quite high with donor eggs?
Have you asked about the miscarriage rate after embryo transfer?
Has your husband or partner's semen been tested lately?
Will the clinic use estrogen and progesterone to prepare the endometrium lining of your uterus. Will the clinic require a mock cycle first? Which type of estrogen is used?

    1. Or there is another way to try to omit using donor eggs in the way it goes. - Mithochondria donation:
Mitochondria replacement therapy is an innovation and a breakthrough in the field of ART and the fertility treatment. This program gives women, who underwent numerous unsuccessful IVF cycles, aged 40+, patients with low mitochondrial functional activity, an excellent chance to give birth to a child who shares a genetic relationship with her and her partner. Mitochondrial DNA and Human DNA are different things. It only gives that necessary energy to the oocyst and helps with developing an embryo and make it stronger. DNA is in the core of the mitochondria, which are not used for donation. Therefore, genetically, mitochondria have no effect on the embryo. Do the embryo would be yours at least in the way we usually think about it. This approach is based on the idea that aging/poor eggs might not be genetically damaged but might be more out of steam/energy. Some results suggest that adding fresh active mitochondria could rejuvenate eggs and help them to succeed. You'll need an egg donor with a high functional activity of mitochondria, a patient, and sperm for in vitro fertilization are required. Healthy functionally active mitochondria are taken from a donor’s oocyte and integrated with the patient’s cells. I think it gives you peace of mind you have other options, just look at the signatures of the ladies on the forum you can see multiple attemps is not unusual. Sods law you will get lucky first time.

  11. Yes, Ukraine! Still cannot believe this! We had ultrasound scan and consultation this morning. My AMH is lower than I used to have it even last year..And the ovary on my right seems to be inactive. So the hugest burden is paid upon my left one. Upset obviously but trying my best to remain calm and not freak out. My husband has been great but, apart from his motility needing a slight improvement, all is fine his end. We’re going to try our on the whole round #5 IVF surrogacy. This time we're turning back to own eggs. Though they're gonna be just few, our kind doctor feels good about them. She advised us their new method of mitochondria donation. You might have heard about sth like ''Three parents – one baby''..But this is not just the same with them. They use the donor's mitochondria to rejuvenate own eggs of the patient. These mitochondria don't effect the baby's DNA, so its genetically yours. Like just adding some more energy needed for the successful fertilization and embryo development. So we're gonna use this approach. I just have to hope the egg quality is good enough for this procedure as the numbers are small. I don’t think it’s really hit me yet. So I’m sure the next couple of days are going to be to go tough when it all sinks in. This is not easy though we've already been in this for years..
Well, so what made us to turn to surrogacy in Ukraine? Firstly, costs. We're opting for Standard package EUR 39.900. Further more we're using their mitochondria replacement therapy, because I do want to have genetically related to me kid. Secondly, law here favors us the intended parents. In Ukraine we are considered to be the only legal parents of the baby from the moment of conception! No one has right to keep our baby after delivery! And probably, the last one is this unique method we've got to know about for the first time after doing loads of research. I hope we did right choice. Would also be great to hear from someone else who has been through something similar or to be honest, just some kind words would do.

    1. Well, after minutes of thinking I would love to tell you more about the place and the way we experienced our journey. I often happen to read about people do not feel comfortable travelling to Ukraine because of it’s being “in two hairs from war”. I cannot agree at this point as the country is having tough time only in its eastern part. It’s not true that political and economical stability means that people are donating eggs for more altruistic reasons. The donors I saw at the clinic were well dressed and had cell phones meaning they were middle class and not in dire need of money simply to live. We felt comfortable traveling to Kiev. Moreover travel costs were much cheaper than we expected.

Biotexcom clinic where we passed our treatment is ISO registered meaning they are compliant and advanced technologically. The communication from it was also excellent – no language barrier. It was a fairly easy process to arrange and the clinic was very affordable. (We added in DE IVF program of 5 shots, meds included, selective reduction and even so it came to 9900 euro. But here mind the time period passed please!) We succeeded in a pregnancy and regret absolutely nothing about we went on with the clinic.
Hope this helps someone who is considering going abroad for egg donation. Take care X

  12. Hi everyone. Hope you're all well and getting on well with your journeys. This is a bit of a strange one... I am about to embark on my forth try of IVF. I had a fresh cycle which failed 10 days after embryo transfer. Then I had another failed fresh cycle where exactly the same happened. Everything else went really smoothly. Thankfully last time I got two frozen embryos so next round was a frozen one. My clinic said I could have the scratch that time to better my chances. But I wondered if there was anything else I could try to help that one work..The reason I was more desperate than normal for that round to work was that my dad was diagnosed with liver cancer It isn't curable. Moreover, we didn't know how long he had until he has the biopsy and they find out if they can slow it down with chemotherapy or something. My parents have been so supportive through our whole IVF journey and I would love more than anything in the world for him to see my husband and I have a lovely grandchild for him. It would certainly make him die a happy man! I don't care how much it costs us. I'm gonna do everything to make this work! Last time I changed my diet, had acupuncture and did everything by the book and it still didn't work. So I'm worried I haven't exhausted the options (other than the scratch). Any thoughts greatly appreciated, TIA.

    1. Ladies above keep on telling about surrogacy and probably this is the the most effective option to count on. Also the most expensive one. But this choice is very personal. For me surrogacy has always been the last option to count on. We tried 2 rounds oe ivf and 1 shot de ivf before got success and one of our sweet embies got stuck. This time we’re going the same way for the sibling. Everyone’s path differs. We all have different cases. One thing is for sure we have to do the best with the clinic’s choice. 'cause it’s half way to success.

  13. Oh ladies. Here's our new ''challenge'' lol. Our baby is 8 months old. For the most part she sleeps quite well at night. But sometimes these are sleepless nights as well because of the teething. We do believe that soothing medicals affect the baby’s teeth, so we try to use them not often. In general, babies’ teeth start to appear from around six months. It tells about their being able to eat solid food later. Teething brings some pain and upset for babies in the most of the cases. Also it brings a hard work for us, parents. This is up to us to sooth a teething baby somehow. Believe me or not but I do know the family where the baby with a tooth was born. Isn’t it amazing? The bottom front teeth are supposed to come first. Usually they are followed by the top front teeth. Most babies will have all their milk teeth by the time they are two and a half. So, keep calm!

  14. Hi, all! Well, just wanted to sum up some of the experienced things we used to go through. We’ve got quite a long history. Diagnosed with PCOS, fallopian tubes blocked and egg quality we had to survive 2 failed IVF cycles with OE at home first. And here we all should remember we may face lots of reasons transfer ends in failure. No point actually to blame the clinic, as there are hardly all factors experts can influence with the very first shot. Our previous doc explained the reasons.
Transfer failure could be chromosomes problems. It’s when many healthy looking embryos have defective chromosomes. It may have been that the egg did not mature properly or after the fertilization it divided not how it should have. It could be because of the poor blood flow to the womb. If there’s poor circulation in the womb, chance for pregnancy is decreased and if you conceive there is a bigger chance of miscarriage. This could happen even if there is nothing wrong with the embryos. These are not comforting things though but they help us to make head or tail of what s happening to our bodies when sth goes wrong.
All in all, with the time flow, I became strongly sure that God blesses every waiting. We ended our journey with pregnancy in Ukrainian clinic Biotexcom using donor egg.
May God make lit your journeys and bless them with the happy end too. Xx

  15. I’m new here too. See, not new to fertility issues, but just to this very board. A little background. 7 years of trying, 6 failed IUIs, and an IVF cycle that was called off, to finally have 1 single additional test done that could have told us 7 years ago that it wasn’t going to happen. I was so mad at the universe and everyone around me. I couldn’t hear anything about other people having babies. It was more than I could handle. I played it off that I didn’t like children, just so that no one would ask me why we weren’t having kids. My husband was afraid to talk to me about any of our friends having kids, because he never knew how badly I would take it. Sometimes I wish they had done that one test from the get go and we could have just moved forward vs being in the ‘spin cycle’ for 7 long years. But then looking back maybe it was almost better that it gave me time to start to process. Even once we had confirmed that DE surrogacy was our only path I still needed time. We took a couple years off. We did some traveling to really see if something really did seem like it was missing. Ultimately for me the answer was YES. We did a huge research on the point and soon make a decision in favor of Ukrainian clinic.
We have encountered other couples who chose Ukraine purely for the guarantee factor of a baby, which can sound strange to some, but for us, it was like music to our ears! Also, it seems like Ukraine is one of the few places where the laws favor the intended parents rather than the surrogate. Under Ukrainian law, the baby is ours from the moment of conception. Once the baby is born, the birth certificate is issued with our names, and the surrogate cannot claim any rights. Lastly, we could rest with the thought that time-wise, pregnancy could start right after embryos are created, as many women participate in surrogacy in Ukraine. So this is me.

    ReplyDelete
  16. There are so many reasons couples may apply for surrogacy. Among them hysterectomy. If a woman has had a hysterectomy and an illness it prevents her from being able to carry a pregnancy. Some women are required to take medication that could adversely affect a growing fetus. Also age and whether a woman is able to safely carry a pregnancy. A friend of mine was experiencing a life threatening situation. Dr told pregnancy was forbidden for her, so they opted for surrogacy 2 yrs ago at biotex and were successful from the 1st round. Another reason may be when a woman was born without a uterus. Fibroids in the Uterus. Although fibroids can be removed, they can also grow back. Unexplained Infertility. It occurs after a woman has tried 3 or 4 IVF cycles with good quality embryos but does not get pregnant. And other reasons we may read about on every infertility site. For me surrogacy has always been the last option to count on. We were lucky once using donor eggs for ivf. Came back to the same clinic for a sibling. Currently waiting for the ET.

  17. I'm 45 yrs young earlier diagnosed on endo and pcos. whilst treatments did 2 lapos which brought no actual result. Tried 2 fresh cycles with oe. got 18 eggs retrieved, 10 fertilized, did 5day transfer both times. embryo quality - a mix of As, Bs and Cs. Got my left ovary removed with one of lapos. was too disheartened to continue trying, so both took a long break to recover. when the world says ''Give up!' hope always whispers ''Try it one more time''. so soon we started considering egg donation route. firstly, wanted it cheaper anyway, as we've already paid out of pocket. we wanted sth called ''guaranteed'' package. Meaning you'll get money back if you aren't successful with treatments. Moreover we were looking for the options abroad, again, for more affordable prices mainly. Our package included all meds needed, so we didn't worry where to get them and for what money sums. I happened to hear some of the ridiculous comments on forums, like ''No one can guarantee'' or ''No clinic gives money back if you fail'' or sth like that. and this made me sad, 'cause people were too evil to hurt. They didn't understand the key of this ''guarantee'' but were usually first to say ''this can't be!'' or ''i'm not buying it!'' Looked like i shared experience and got judged for this..World can be cruel..but not without nice people.
Thank you for what you've done.

  18. Try again! - This is the only good answer and a good IVF doctor’s answer will be exactly this. Of course, he may make changes, based on your response, and he will explain these to you. A good doctor will not order a bunch of expensive tests after each IVF failure and doctor will make sure that his patients have realistic expectation about the entire IVF process. If you want to be a mature IVF patient, educate yourself about the process. This will help you to have sensible expectations of IVF treatment. It will protect you from an emotional breakdown; and from unnecessary tests and treatments.
There are clinics, which want to make the IVF treatment a win-win situation. They offer something called a money back guarantee programme. You pay for a certain number of cycles (for example 3 IVF cycles) and if you do not get pregnant within those 3 cycles, they give you back your money. This is a wonderful option, which could help you preserve your peace of mind, at least as regards the financial aspect. So before starting an IVF cycle make sure that your clinic has such an option and ask them whether you qualify for such a programme.
We’ve been through the similar program. Biotexcom offers 5 shots, guaranteed. Meds, donor eggs included into the package price. Also set of other services. Check out for more details!
